THE Vale of Clwyd is hosting the 2008 Gwyl Gerdd Dant Festival.

From Bryneglwys and Derwen, down through the valley to the shores of Prestatyn and Rhyl, the area inviting the festival encompasses the northern part of Denbighshire.

The steering committee's work is well underway, and an exciting competition programme is now being confirmed for 2008 at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl.

"It will be a pleasure to return to the Vale of Clwyd and to Rhyl, as it has been 14 years since the festival last visited the seaside town," said festival organiser Dewi Jones.

"With the market towns of Denbigh and Ruthin also a part of the area inviting the festival, there will be a great atmosphere at the Gwyl Gerdd Dant Festival in the Vale of Clwyd on November 15, 2008."

Leading the team in the Vale will be the familiar face and voice of singer songwriter, Leah Owen. Leah and her husband Eifion. Famous for her exquisite voice and her TV and concert appearances, Leah concentrates on training and adjudicating at eisteddfodau across the country.
