Bite-size Encore

PAINTINGS and ceramics from two artists who have known each other since their childhood will be on show at Denbigh Library, Museum And Art Gallery from the end of this month.
The Denbigh arts venue will host Gerald Dewsbury's and Martin Craddock's Earth Matters exhibition between March 29 and May 5.
Gerald's verdant canvases inspired by the Welsh landscape bubble over with observed details while a darker meaning often underlies the seemingly tranquil scenes.
Martin produces functional pots in glazed earthenware, striving for strong clean forms and enhancing them with rich layered glazes that create bold contrasts through pattern and texture.
The gallery is open 9.30am-7pm (Monday and Wednesday), 9.30am-5pm (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and 9.30am-12.30pm on Saturdays.

A TRIP back in time will be the treat for history lovers in a two-day Ruthin event next month.
Ruthin Medieval Festival will be staged between April 26 and 27 (10am-6pm).
Centered around Ruthin Castle, but adding other venues in the town, the festival will concentrate entirely on the medieval period.
As well as deliberately setting out to try and extend Ruthin's tourist season, these shows will be donating 10 per cent of the profits to local charities- and for 2008 the chosen beneficiary is the Hope House Children's Hospice.

GET ready for some Easter fun in Ruthin next month!
