Phoebe's circuit to fitness: week ten

IT'S amazing how, when you sign up for something in March, June 1 can seem like miles away lulling you into a false sense of security that you have all the time in the world.

That's exactly how I felt when I proudly put down my name for Race for Life last month thinking that training would start later.

But of course that's not the case and, as these weeks are flying by, it suddenly dawned on me that I had to start preparing myself if I wanted to run the 5km as I had previously hoped.

Noelle presented me with a training programme last week to start this week.

At the time she gave it me I felt confident that it would be easy to stick to, but the distance between feeling ready and being ready is actually longer than the distance I have to run in the race!

I started this week determined to stick to what, on paper, looked like an easy enough target - 2 minutes of running and 2 minutes of walking three times during the next seven days.

Of course Monday came and I had my circuit, so that night was off.
