An art and crafts retail giant is set to open its doors once again in Rhyl.

After more than two years retailer The Works is expected to return to the White Rose Shopping Centre this August.

The returning Rhyl store will be the discount arts, crafts, book, toy and stationery retailer's fifth in North Wales, rejoining outlets in Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Bangor and Caernarfon.

Kevin Keaney, chief executive officer The Works said: “We are delighted to be returning to Rhyl with a brand-new store.

"Our stores continue to perform extremely well in Wales and this section of the North Wales coast is key for our development.

"We’re always looking for new and exciting locations to bring our range of products to and are very happy to be joining a great host of stores and outlets at the White Rose Shopping Centre.”

The opening is expected to create ten new jobs in Rhyl upon opening, with plans to take on even more staff in the run up to the busy Christmas shopping season.

Mr Kearney added:“Our business continues to go from strength to strength, opening stores when other retailers are closing them. We’ve already enjoyed great success across North Wales and we’re delighted to be opening a new store.”

When contacted by The Journal a spokesperson from the The White Rose Shopping said they were unable to comment at this time.
