POPULAR boyband JLS, who shot to fame in ITV talent show X Factor in 2008, will headline Osfest in May.
The festival at Oswestry’s Park Hall has been held for the last three years and has attracted a number of top acts including rock band Razorlight and Hard-Fi.
The music festival, which attracts hundreds of revellers from Mid Wales, will take place over May Bank Holiday weekend from Friday, May 24 until Sunday, May 26 at Oswestry Showground.
The four members of JLS – Aston Merrygold, Ortise Williams, JB Gill and Marvin Humes – will appear at Osfest before they begin a massive arena tour around the UK this December.
Carly Jackson, event director, said: “These are some of our biggest announcements to date and we are delighted to be welcoming JLS to Oswestry.”
The festival will offer a range of music and dance acts, both well known and emerging talent. More announcements about acts set to perform will be made in the coming weeks and for the first time in its history the star-studded music festival will be under cover.
This year the main stage will be indoors under a massive Big Top and the second stage and the rest of the festival, except the DJ and comedy tents, will still be outside so you may still need your wellies.
The main stage big top will only take 5,000 festival goers this year so there are just 800 early bird tickets available until Friday, February 15. These are priced at £59.50 for a full weekend camping ticket.
Under 16 camping tickets (for children from 11 - 15 years inclusive at the date of the festival) are priced at £55.50. Children aged under 10 years tickets are free. ID will be required when exchanging tickets for wristbands.
Ms Jackson said: “When they are gone they are gone, so don’t miss out.”
