AT midday today on the steps of the Senedd, MP Glyn Davies addressed a crowd of thousands, gathered in protest against massive infrastructure developments planned for the Powys countryside.

The protest, taking place outside the home of the Welsh Government in Cardiff Bay, has been attended by dozens of coaches coming from all over mid Wales.

The MP for Montgomeryshire delivered an impassioned speech which was very well received, said County Times reporter Dominic Roberston who is covering the rally.

Despite the strong wind, the MP told the crowd: "All the enemies of Britain in all the decades have never visited such destruction on our land.

"There is a madness about onshore wind where they are prepared to sacrifice mid Wales on the altar of a false god," Mr Davies said to rapturous applause from the crowd.
