LLANDUDNO will bear witness to trick shots aplenty this month when a host of snooker legends cued for a special snooker showcase perform live.

Stars including Jimmy White, John Virgo and Cliff Thorburn will grace Llandudno once again to battle it out, and provide a few laughs along the way.
The legends can still play well, with previous shows seeing many centuries and a 147 from Jimmy White.

Cliff Thorburn - known as 'The Grinder' - was a North American champion by the time he was 22.
He travelled to the to UK in 1973 to compete in his first world championship, and in 1980 became the first non-British champion.

But despite the show being friendly, it is still competetive.

"It is quite remarkable. We put on a good old show. We do not play safety shots," promised Cliff.

Even though personal pride comes into it, he says they are still "good old friends" and he also has an affection for Brits.

"I am treated well by my great fans. Everyone has a great time. If the players are having fun, it rubs off on the fans."

He says that he also loves Llandudno and enjoys coming to town. He added: "It really cannot get much prettier."

  • The Snooker Legends will be performing live at Venue Cymru on Sunday, June 12 at 7pm. For more information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01492 872000.
