RHOS racer Dylan Kerfoot-Robson came third in the Preston Grand Prix U16 youth event.

The Rhos-on-Sea CC rider, who won a silver medal in the Welsh Youth Championships at Marsh Tracks in Rhyl last week, came through a sprint for the line for a podium slot.

With just a few weekly time trials left at the Marsh Tracks, Justin McIlveen heads Gareth Bowyer in the Rhos-On-Sea CC’s overall points competition, while Stan Field leads Gary Houlston and Gerallt Allen in the Rhyl/Melyd TT League.

Gareth McGuiness set new figures for the 7.85 miles Brynsiencyn course on Anglesey last week with a 27 mph average time of 17min 27sec over a minute clear of Gary Ellis (Energy CC) and Clwb Rasio Mona's Iwan Morton.

The Graham Weigh Cycles Series on Tuesday nights concludes on September 20 and the domination of 17-year-old Ryan Mullen continued in the latest round last week.

Mullen won all three senior races, although it was a tight call for the judges in the last with no more than a tyre’s width separating the Eirias High student from Ruthin’s Conan Mayman (Raleigh RT).
