ABERGELE COLTS 2
LLANNEFYDD 3
DIVISION One frontrunners Llannefydd have transported their home form to away games in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League.
Llan won their first away game of the season and completed the double over Abergele Colts in the process.
It was a goalless first half, despite both Tom Sheridan and Dave 'Garff' Wilkins going close for Llan.
However, it was the away side who scored the opening goal right at the beginning of the second half.
Tom Sheridan succeeded in keeping the ball in play on the right side and Wilkins anticipated his through ball to finish things off well.
Back came Abergele, though, and they equalised soon after when poor defending allowed the Colts to score.
The game’s turning point came when the Colts found themselves down to 10 men when one of their players was sent off.
Llan soon took advantage, with top scorer Wilkins beating the keeper from close-range to bag his second goal of the afternoon.
It was effectively game over when Llan scored their third soon after.
Some good interplay between Alun 'Chick' Williams and Ed Jones allowed Elgan Roberts to shoot past the keeper.
The Colts did give themselves a glimmer of hope when they scored from the penalty spot late on, but Llannefydd were able to hang on and secure their fourth win of the season.
Gwion Owen was voted as Llannefydd’s man of the match.
