AUDIENCES will be able to enjoy Tchaikovsky’s world famous ballet The Nutcracker when the highly acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet Company returns to Colwyn Bay.

The enchanting tale of The Nutcracker centres around Clara and her nutcracker doll, which magically transforms into a princely soldier. Their adventures see the Prince and Clara combat the Mouse King and join the Sugar Plum Fairy for a trip to a kingdom made entirely of sweets.

This production of the heart-warming, traditional tale offers all the essential ingredients of ballet: glamorous costumes, beautiful sets and energetic performances by the dancers, all bringing the magic of ballet to life.

The company’s founder, Austrian dancer and artistic director, Peter Mallek, brings an international cast to town as the company celebrates 32 years on stage.

Returning by popular demand Vienna Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker promises to be a treat for ballet fans and interested observers alike, as well as an ideal opportunity to introduce children to the art and skills of ballet.

  • The Nutcracker will be showing at Theatr Colwyn in Colwyn Bay at 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 19. For more information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01492 577888 or visit the website at www.theatrcolwyn.co.uk
