Thieves made off with hand crafted benches from outside a rugby club.
Members of the Rhyl Rugby club were left mystified when two custom built benches were stolen from outside the training ground on Waen Road in Rhuddlan.
Sion Hughes, club secretary said: “It’s odd. The club is out in the country and nothing like this has gone missing before. Everyone was a bit surprised really.
“They’re quite big as well so how they moved them I don’t know.”
The benches, which were made by one of the club members, are bespoke and larger than the seats usually available.
Mr Hughes said: “It’s a shame when we have a member put time into something like that and someone decides to up and take them.”
Police are now appealing for information about the disappearing benches, which would have been taken sometime between October 6 and the evening of October 10.
PC Kevin Whitehead said: “An offender or offenders have entered the training ground on Waen Road, Rhuddlan, and taken two heavy wooden outdoor tables with attached seating that were located on a raised decked seating area outside the club house.
“Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity or any suspicious vehicles parked near to the entrance on Waen Road to contact North Wales Police.”
