A BETHESDA teenager went the extra mile in her efforts to raise money for charity.
Catherine Carr, 18, had a poppy tattoed on her neck to raise £500 for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, and to encourage others to support the charity throughout the year.
“What we do to raise money for them is nothing in comparison to what they do for us on a daily basis,” she said.
The charity is close to Catherine’s heart, as her grandfather William Gwynfryn Jones was the area Poppy Appeal organiser.
Ant Ross of Redskin Tattoos in Bangor took about two hours to complete the design, which bears the words “We will remember.”
“It’s healing up so it doesn’t look too pretty at the moment but the final image is absolutely phenomenal. Ant couldn’t have done a better job.
“It was the most comfortable place to have tattooed, but it was well worth it,” Catherine said.
Catherine hopes to exceed her fundraising target and wants to hold another event in the near future.
“I’m trying to figure out something that’s a little bit crazier than a tattoo. I want to do something out of the ordinary that people will remember,” she said.
