THE Environment Agency is urging people to remain vigilant for localised flooding across Wales, as more heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast for tomorrow.
While conditions are easing this afternoon and river levels are beginning to fall, forecasts indicate that further heavy rainfall will reach parts of north Wales tomorrow morning, and the whole of the country by Wednesday evening, continuing into Thursday morning.
There are 16 flood alerts across the country at present.
Although rainfall tomorrow is not predicted to be as heavy as today, the ground is already saturated, and further rainfall may cause rivers to rise which may lead to further Flood Alerts or Flood Warnings being issued.
Combined with strong winds, this may also cause some local travel disruption.
Agency officers have been out on the ground checking that flood defences are in good working order.
Officers have also been assessing any potential blockages and removing obstructions which may pose a flood risk.
The Agency is advising people to continue to be aware of localised disruption, and to keep an eye on local news, traffic and weather reports in their area.
