CHRISTMAS came early for a St Asaph golfer.
Stan Bowcott claimed the big present during the Christmas competition at Denbigh Golf Club, played between December 19 and 24, with the course being closed on December 18 and 23.
Despite this, the stableford still attracted 190 entries, as members were allowed to play as often as they wished.
The overall winner was St Asaph resident Stan Bowcott with a very good score of 45 points off his handicap of 21, but there were no handicap adjustments during this week of festive competition.
Meanwhile, Rhewl’s David Guidera comfortably took the honours when members took part in week 11 of the winter league season.
