EMOTIONAL tributes have been paid to two young women who died in a Gwynedd village following a car crash on New Year’s Day.

Sasha Danielle Jarvis, aged 19 from Llanberis, and Sian Gwenllian Lloyd Davies, aged 21 from Pentir, were the driver and passenger in a silver Vauxhall Corsa which hit a wall by the Glyn Twrog pub in Llanrug, near Caernarfon, at about 6am on Sunday.

Sasha’s family described her as a “fun loving and warm person who loved her family and numerous friends,” while Sian’s family paid tribute to a girl who “touched the lives of many people, young and old, with her generosity of spirit and zest for life”.

Sian’s eldest sister Olwen, who had announced her engagement to her boyfriend only the day before, said she could not believe what had happened while her mother Jen added: “No parent should have to bury their child before them.”

Llanrug Councillor Charles Wyn Jones, who is a governor at Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug where Sasha worked as a learning support assistant, described the tragedy as a “great loss”.

“The whole community is devastated by this awful tragedy and, on behalf of the people of Llanrug, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of both women,” he said.

“Sasha was a hard working and valued member of the school staff.
“She will be sorely missed by the children, staff and governors.”

Robin Williams, headteacher at Ysgol Gynradd Llanrug, also expressed his condolences to the families and said a minute’s silence was held at the school yesterday.

Devastated friends and family have being leaving flowers near the scene of the crash and tributes continue to be paid on social networking sites.

Libby Davies, from Bangor, wrote: “RIP Sasha and Sian, two lovely bubbly girls.
“You will be missed.”

Ryan Roberts, also from Bangor, wrote: “Nothing worse than seeing things different and not knowing what to do...RIP Sasha and Sian x”.

The two women were formally identified on Tuesday by the coroner and an inquest has been opened and adjourned.

North Wales Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash and are asking anyone with information to contact 0300 3300101.
