BALA Town are hoping to solve a goalkeeping conundrum ahead of this Saturday’s big Welsh Cup fourth round tie at Buckley Town.
Regular number one Terry McCormick is suspended and substitute keeper Mark Pullman is unavailable due to injury.
Pullman suffered a head injury during the early stages of last weekend’s Welsh Premier League Cup loss at Airbus UK Broughton, while his replacement McCormick was red-carded less than 10 minutes later.
“Mark’s okay, but obviously he was knocked out and we won’t be able to play his for 10-to-14 days,” said team boss Colin Caton.
With both of the goalkeepers out, Caton added: “Plan C is we’re trying to get a keeper in.
“We are hoping we will have someone before five o’clock on Friday.
“We have got a reserve goalie we wouldn’t mind putting in if we want to.”
Caton added: “It’s going to be a big test and we have got a few players cup-tied.”
Ben Collins, Ian Sheridan and Mike Sharples are all cup-tied on Saturday, while Pullman, McCormick and Steven Brown are also sidelined.
Despite these big absentees, Caton still believes that Bala are favourites to progress.
“I think we are still the higher placed team and it’s a squad game,” he said.
“But it’s going to be difficult.”
