A GOOD week for Steven Owens saw him claim victory and move into contention to retain the winter league crown at Denbigh Golf Club.
Owens topped a field of 136 entries to win last week’s bogey and after 15 weeks of competition, he now stands second in the individual leaderboard, just three points behind current leader George Williams.
Owens is also a member of the leaders in the team event.
He took victory in the bogey with an excellent score of seven-up off his handicap of nine, which has since been reduced to four.
During the course of the week, a total of 10 members had their handicaps attended to.
It promises to be an exciting end to the winter league season and, weather permitting, there are still four more weeks of competition to go.
