THE CONWY Futebol League returned last week with reigning champions Tudno Tigers picking up where they left off with back-to-back maximum points.

This week’s opponents Cool Runnings failed to raise a team, and the Tigers started the season with a 5-1 win over Intellectuals, with Robbie Knowles netting a hat-trick along with strikes from Joey Jennings and Ben Lobban. Dez Hughes pulled one back for the I’s.

The clash of the week saw Barakuda come from 4-1 down against Truly Irresistible to win 5-4, with Pawel and Peter netting twice each and Filip adding another to reply to three from Matty Wafer and Dan Hughes’ effort. The win follows a disappointing opening from Barakuda, who failed to raise a team against Incredible Misfits.

Also on maximum points are Leave My, who picked up 4-1 wins in both of their opening games. They beat Greatness thanks to three from Jake Snape and one from Ryan Jones, with Steve Penrose replying, and toppled Team Reem with goals from Snape, Mark Montgomery and Liam Lehain.

Incredible Misfits are also maxed out after their opening week bye, after beating the Intellectuals 2-0 thanks to a couple of Chris Campbell goals.

Wet Bandits made a winning start with a 4-2 victory over Greatness, thanks to two from Tod Davis and one a-piece from Mervin Jones and Chris Bell, with that man Steve Penrose netting Greatness goals, but the Bandits lost 1-0 to Bar Studs in their second of the season.

A week earlier, the Bar Studs drew 2-2 with Kev’s Team, with Mike Jones and Dan Sanford scoring for the Bar boys and Philip Hughes notching twice for Team, who then thumped Hardly Athletic 7-0 as Grant Montgomery grabbed four, along with two from Jeo Carey and one for Pip.

The only other game saw Noisy Neighbours awarded a 5-0 win over no-shows Team Reem.
