NATIONAL tabloid newspapers and celebrity magazines are awash with stories of so-called stars cheating on their partners and spouses.
Actress Kristen Stewart, footballer Ryan Giggs, and golfer Tiger Woods have all admitted playing away from home.
And Denbighshire is no exception with wives and husbands openly advertising themselves on the internet for illicit affairs with people who live locally.
A study by leading extra-marital dating site IllicitEncounters.com has revealed women seeking affairs is on the increase and the new trend for women to look and feel younger, is to have an affair.
Three years ago the Free Press revealed that 10 women and 50 men from Denbighshire were active on the IllicitEnconters.com website.
One woman later wrote in thanking us for exposing her cheating husband.
Now the figures have more than doubled with 23 women and 112 men who say they are from Denbighshire. And there are hundreds more love cheats from Gwynedd and Clwyd.
Since the release of 50 Shades of Grey thousands have joined the extra-martial dating website, which has seen a 33 per cent increase in members joining compared with three months prior.
The results of a survey from IllicitEncounters.com showed Wales as the top five of the least faithful areas in Britain, with 23 per cent admitting to having cheated on their spouse at least once, and over eight per cent admitting to having done it more than five times.
According to the website’s own survey, reasons for women embarking on an extra marital tryst were “curiosity, boredom with their current situation and the desire to feel in love again”.
IllicitEncounters.com spokeswoman Rosie Freeman-Jones said: “It will probably shock some people that ‘sex’, as a reason for pursuing an affair, was so low down on the list.
“Many women are just longing to feel attractive again, after years without a single compliment from their spouse.
“Far too many husbands appear to take their wives for granted with some married men finding any form of romantic gesture nie-on impossible, leaving their other half to find their lust for life renewed by finding someone who finds them attractive and isn't afraid to tell them so.”
S5kte, 48, a married woman from St Asaph said: “Intelligent, articulate, humorous and BORED! Been married for a lifetime, adore my children and work hard for a living; no mischief or spontaneity in my life at present and would like a swift injection!!”
Trixiejb, 46, married from Denbigh said she is a “professional and confident woman who likes to enjoy life and needs someone to share a sense of adventure and mischief with.
“I have a twinkle in my eye that should tell you lots more than I could write on here.”
A 45-year-old Denbigh man who is living with a partner, with a username, markusman1965 said: “Hi my name is Stuart and I am an easy going bloke with a gsoh (good sense of humour).
“I have a partner and two kids but want to meet someone to have an affair or possibly more.”
