Another 'firework type device' ignited in Denbigh

POLICE investigations are underway in Denbigh following reports that a firework type device was ignited in the town last night.
Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, April 10, North Wales Police received reports of the incident which is believed to have occurred on a derelict land near Smithfield Road in the Lenten Pool area.
Police attended and investigations into the incident are continuing. The area has been cordoned off and officers will be conducting house to house inquiries.
Detective Inspector Tim Evans, said: “I want to reassure residents that we are treating this incident extremely seriously and will continue to investigating the matter thoroughly. Crime Scene Investigators are examining the scene and we will be working to establish if there are any links with this incident and those previously reported in Denbigh.”
He added: “CCTV will also be studied as part of the investigation however I urge anyone who has any information regarding the incident or indeed previous incidents to contact us immediately. Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Smithfield Road, which is just off Lenten Pool, at around 11.50pm, last night? If you did, or if you have any information, however insignificant you may believe it to be, contact officers at St Asaph CID on 101. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”
