Motorcyclist killed near Corwen

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident with a Jeep.

Daniel Williams, 23, from Ruthin, was killed on Saturday, August 10, when his blue and white Suzuki GSXR 600 bike was involved in a collision with a green Jeep Rangler 4x4.

Mr Williams was travelling on the A494 between Gwyddelwern and Bryn Saith Marchog, near Corwen, about 3.35pm when the accident happened.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said Mr Williams was declared dead at the scene.

Tributes have been left on Daniel’s Facebook page who works at Williams Plant Hire in Ruthin, run by his dad David.

County councillor Peter Lewis for Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, where Daniel’s mum Eluned lives, said: “All our thoughts are very much with Daniel's family and friends at this difficult time. The genuine kind words people have for Daniel speaks for the high esteem he was held.”

Police are continuing to investigate the incident which happened on the road between Gwyddelwern and Bryn Saith Marchog.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw a blue and white Suzuki GSXR 600 motorbike travelling along the A494 from Ruthin shortly before the collision happened to contact PC 447 Threlfall at the Roads Policing Unit in St Asaph on 101.
