TRIBUTES have been paid to a “one in a million” Ruthin man who died in a motorcyclist accident with a 4x4.
The family of Daniel Mark Williams, aged 23, has given a heart-felt tribute to the biker who “enjoyed every minute of his life”.
Daniel, known as Dan to his family and Wills to his friends, died when his blue and white Suzuki GSXR 600 bike was involved in a collision with a green Jeep Rangler 4x4, on the A494 near Gwyddelwern on Saturday, August 10.
He was travelling on the A494 between Gwyddelwern and Bryn Saith Marchog, near Corwen, at about 3.35pm when the accident happened.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Dan’s sister Leandra said: “’Dan’ (as he was known to his family) was always happy and was a very likeable person.
“ He enjoyed every minute of his life, loved music and socialising with his friends. No matter where you were, Dan would always make you smile – he was one in a million.”
Dan, a former student of Ysgol Brynhyfrd in Ruthin, worked on farms in the area before following in his brother’s footsteps of joining the family construction business, Williams Plant Hire, run by his dad David.
Leandra added: “He loved working for Dad, he drove a bulldozer and travelled all over the country doing this work.
“Dan loved anything to do with an engine, liked fixing the machines, tinkering with cars and would try and fix things himself rather than go to a garage. He would also talk about machines to his friends, but I suppose you could say that it was in his blood from a very early age.
“Dan was always busy, keen to learn new things and always on the go but was happy. When he was around there was never a dull moment.
“He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
Daniel leaves his father David, his mother Lyn, brother Chris, sister Leandra and girlfriend Hayley Jones.
County councillor Peter Lewis for Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, where Daniel’s mum lives, said: “All our thoughts are very much with Daniel's family and friends at this difficult time.
“The genuine kind words people have for Daniel speaks for the high esteem he was held.”
Police are continuing to investigate the incident which happened on the road between Gwyddelwern and Bryn Saith Marchog.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw a blue and white Suzuki GSXR 600 motorbike travelling along the A494 from Ruthin shortly before the collision happened to contact PC 447 Threlfall at the Roads Policing Unit in St Asaph on 101.
