Donkey Derby fun this Saturday

A DONKEY derby fun day will be on this Saturday.
The Rotary Club of Ruthin has organised a six race donkey derby to return to Ruthin after 10 years.
The organisers are appealing for people to support the day and for any budding Jockeys to enter the donkey races, but parental permission is required for taking part in the donkey races.
Each race has been sponsored by businesses in the area including Waterco Ltd who also sponsors the town’s rugby club; Ruthin Décor, Well Street; Automark, Lon Parcwr, Easy Chemicals; Ruthin Precaste Concrete and 75Point3 and Well Street.
Waterco Ltd’s managing director, Peter Jones said that they were delighted to be involved in such a fun event and urged local people to make the day a big success.
The event, with free admission, will be held at Cae Ddol.
The Mayor of Ruthin, will officially open the day which begins at 1.30pm when the highlight of the day will be the six donkey races with six donkeys in each one and a grand final at the end of the day.
Between races entertainment will be provided by Ruthin Town Band, a children’s magician and a Punch and Judy Show.
There will also be lots of things available for the family including bouncy castles, face painting and a coconut shy and many more stalls and games.
Refreshments will also be available on the park with Ruthin Inner Wheel club providing teas, coffees, cakes and soft drinks.
There will also be a bar, a burger stall, ice cream and pizza oven.
The Rotary Club of Ruthin, wishes to thank local businesses for their support for this event and through out the year and called on local people to attend the free event.
