THE percentage of A* to C grades has increased by 10 per cent at Ruthin School.
All 14 students received five A*-C grades meaning results have increased to 87 per cent from 77 per cent on last year.
Top student Caira Williams received six A* and three As, and Samuel Chan received five A*, two As and one B.
Principal, Toby Belfield, said: “I am delighted with this year’s GCSE results. We are continuing with our drive for academic excellence and look to make improvements year on year.
“The students at Ruthin School work very hard to achieve success, and these results today exemplify this. Along with last week’s A-level and AS-level results, despite a national decline, we continue to show improvement.
“I am also delighted to welcome so many new students from Howell’s School for girls, some of which are in the middle of their GCSEs.
“I believe that our strong academic performance, in recent years, has led to the continued expansion of pupil numbers at Ruthin School.
“Well done, to all the students at Ruthin School for achieving outstanding success in the recent results.”
