A COMMUNITY has joined together to turn Corwen into a Christmas wonderland.

Corwen residents raised more than £1,000 to decorate the town in style this Christmas with new lights, Christmas tree and a new santa and snowman lighting up the square.

All the hard work by organisers, local businesses, groups and volunteers has paid off with a successful Christmas fair held on Saturday.

The town was busy with shoppers, children and Christmas elves helping Santa in his grotto.

Kate Hore, of Teasdale Bookbinders, won the best dressed Christmas window display, called A Child’s Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas.

Kate was presented with the winner’s trophy by Corwen Town Council leader Chris
Jones.

Ysgol Dinas Bran wind band (pictured below) got everyone into the Christmas spirit playing Christmas carols throughout the day.

Stalls had an array of local craft and trade showing visitors what special items Corwen has to offer.

A cooking demonstration was also held at Canolfan NI and the day ended with carol singing round the tree in the town square.

Parking was also free in Corwen to add to the festive atmosphere.
