TRAFFIC around Cynwyd near Corwen has been causing delays this morning.

Localised flooding on the B4401 on the Corwen side of Cynwyd caused problems for traffic.

The water was reported as being about 18 inches at its deepest with some cars having to turn around and take alternative routes.

Natural Resources Wales have a flood warning in place for the Upper Dee Valley from Llanuwchllyn to Llangollen including Corwen.

River levels are at above normal levels.

Natural Resources Wales are continuing to monitor the situation.

The AA offer the following advice for driving in difficult conditions including standing water: “Only drive through water if you know that it's not too deep. Drive slowly and steadily to avoid creating a bow wave. Allow oncoming traffic to pass first and test your brakes as soon as you can after leaving the water.
