RUTHIN pupils have raised more than £1,000 in memory of a courageous mother.

A total of 160 children from Rhos Street School took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for MacMillan cancer in memory of Jo Sinnett, from Ruthin.

Jo Sinnett passed away in October 2013, four days after she got back from Legoland with her husband Chris and six-year-old son Ieuan.

Ieuan, a Rhos Street School pupil walked around Ruthin with the other children with sponsor forms and buckets.

The school raised about £1,200 for MacMillan Cancer.

The Ruthin community also helped raised £3,300 for the Sinnett family last year as Jo wished to take her son to Legoland.
