YSGOL Llanbedr had a knock out special visitor last week.

A professional boxer – Stephen ‘Swifty’ Smith from Liverpool who competes at super featherweight level came to put the pupils and teachers through their paces.

Stephen is the reigning British super featherweight champion and won a Gold Medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne Australia.

He comes from a family of boxers as his three brothers also box.

The pupils and Stephen participated in the Sports For You North healthy lifestyle challenge which consisted of four different exercise stations.

They had to complete as many repetitions as they could and asked  friends and family to sponsor them.

The money will be divided between the school and Sports for You North who support athlete hopefuls from different sports for their training costs, travelling costs, and medical expenses etc.

These are some young GB athletes that currently are not being funded.
Ysgol Llanbedr raised a £234.50 towards making these young hopefuls dreams come true.
