IT promises to be another memorable season for a talented North Wales motor racer.
Ten-year-old Joel Rizzi, from Denbigh, is already a British class champion - but now he is looking to become a world champion over the next few months.
The Ysgol Bro Cinmeirch pupil enjoyed a brilliant first full season in the British Motocross Championship and the Red Bull Pro-Nationals for eight to 11-year-olds.
As one of the youngest competitors in his class, Team Feehily MX racer Joel probably expected just to gain experience from the season and possibly gain some top-10 placings as the campaign developed.
However, as it turned out, Joel was battling for the class win right from the first round.
There were seven rounds to the championship, taking in races at Landrake, Weston Super Mare, Whitby, Canada Heights, Hawkstone Park and twice at Culham.
Following the completion of the season, Joel brilliantly became the youngest class winner in the championship's history and he finished third overall in Britain.
During a season of memorable performances, Joel's best display came at Hawkstone Park, where he won the race by a mammoth 30 seconds.
Joel's dad Tino said: "Joel is totally dedicated to his sport and is focused on becoming a Grand Prix rider by the time he's 15."
The new motocross season is just around the corner.
The British Championship gets underway in six weeks' time, while the 2014 Red Bull Pro-Nationals competition starts on April 11.
"He will be in the middle of the class now (age wise)," said Tino.
"He is pretty fast now!
"It does make me worry a bit, but he rides a lot different to a lot of the kids.
"He is very mature and very safe in his riding.
"He's very particular and he's got to be perfect before trying something."
Joel is gearing himself up for the months ahead by travelling to Europe for practice sessions every other weekend.
The historic French city of Dunkirk has been the setting for these training runs and
Tino added: "Whatever the weather is, it's going to be bone-dry there."
While the British Championship is another important event in the calendar, Tino admitted: "This year his main goal is the World Championship in Belgium."
That top global event will take place on August 18, but first Joel needs to gain selection to the national squad for the event.
"You've got to be picked by your country and only the top-three can go," said Tino.
"You have to be 10 to make it and he's probably the fastest 10-year-old in the world at the minute.
"It's hard to say, because we've never come across any of the American kids.
"But you would have though he is definitely in the top-three in the world."
Tino added: "Joel is so dedicated to his sport and I thought it's only fair that I am as well and I put in 100 per cent, as does his trainer Rich Mike Jones of RMJ Academy into getting him to be a pro rider and doing the Grand Prix at the age of 15.
"A big thanks must go to Ysgol Bro Cinmeirch in Llanrhaeadr for the support they give him and thanks to Feehily MX of Anglesey for helping him out with his motocross bits.
"People can keep track of the season by going on his Facebook page - Joel Rizzi 912 - and giving it a like."
