WELSH Water’s Llyn Brenig rangers are celebrating National Astronomy Week by offering visitors the chance to observe the wonders of the solar system at the picturesque lake.

This year’s National Astronomy Week celebrates Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system as it reaches its highest point in the sky for many years.

The event at Llyn Brenig visitor centre will be held on Saturday, March 8 (weather permitting).

Visitors of all ages are welcome and equipment will be provided.  To book a place or for further information, call 01490 420463 or just turn up on the evening.  The event will run from 6.30pm until late and the café will be open serving hot food and drinks.

Nick Kite, Llyn Brenig manager , said: “This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in astronomy to come along and enjoy the beauty of the night sky.
