Speed limits slashed on county crackdown

SPEED limits are to be cut dramatically on stretches of road across Denbighshire in an attempt to save lives.

Eleven sites have been selected to have their speed limit reduced to 20mph as part of a trial by the council following a consultation with North Wales Police.

But the pilot scheme has left out some towns and villages, including Llandegla, which has been campaigning to get a new speed zone.

Llandegla councillor Martyn Holland is disappointed the village has not been included in the scheme despite designing signs saying ‘20 is plenty’ and setting up a petition for a 20mph speed limit.
