PWLLGLAS celebrated the first anniversary of its award winning community shop.

The celebration was hosted by Siop Pwllglas in the Neuadd Pentre in the village.

The shop boasts a range of local products and many of the producers had stalls at the celebration.

There were also many musical acts to entertain people attending including Anna Angell, Sion Eilir and children from Ysgol Llanfair.

Shop manager, Sharon Newell, said: “ This is more than a shop it’s a special place. It will keep our community strong so keep using it you keep us and we’ll keep you.”

One of the shop’s directors, Sue Clarkson, said: “We are very proud of the success of
Siop Pwllglas and the continued support of the community.

“It is a great community feeling and is always supported by local people.”

The event finished with a raffle which was drawn by former Ysgol Brynhyfryd pupil
and Wolverhampton Wanderers star Bradley Reid.
