A CHURCH near Ruthin will host an Eisteddfod winning harpist this Saturday who will play a variety of music and share the history of the harp with her audience.

Ceinwen Roberts has represented Wales at harp festivals around the world and will bring her gift to St Elidan’s Church, Llanelidan on Saturday 14 June at 7.30pm.

An International Eisteddfod winner and music teacher, Ceinwen will give an insightful talk about the evolution of harp music and play tunes past and present at the concert.

Pat Sumner from St Elidan’s Church said: “When I first heard the harp being played I was amazed at the beautiful sound it makes and the acoustics at St Elidan’s are second to none.

"We’re delighted to have Ceinwen with us for this special concert and look forward to welcoming someone so talented to play for us in Llanelidan.”

Tickets for “The Harp and its History” cost £10 and are available from 01824 750288.

Pre-booking is recommended but tickets will also be available on the night.
