STUDENTS and staff at Ysgol Brynhyfryd are celebrating another excellent set of A-level, WBQ and BTEC results.

All students achieved the level three threshold of two A-level passes or more and 97% of the cohort achieved the Welsh Baccalaureate advanced diploma which is equivalent to an A grade.  With the inclusion of the Welsh Baccalaureate almost half of all grades awarded were A* and A.

Amongst the twelve students achieving straight A*/A grades are Haydn Banks who achieved three A* grades and will go on to read Human, Social and Political Sciences at Queen’s College Cambridge, Emily Bamber  A*AAA who will read Earth Sciences at Oxford, Undeg Steffan A*AA who will study Modern Languages at Edinburgh and Elen Rowlands A*A*A who will be studying Dentistry at Birmingham.  Another outstanding performance was that of Helen Birkill who achieved an A* in Religious Studies, A in Psychology and a Distinction in Health and Social Care.  She will be studying Occupational Therapy at Cardiff University.
