RUTHIN businesses are organising an thank a Liverpool campaign for their support for the town during the 2012 floods.
The event will take place at the Wine Vaults bar in the town in aid of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign
The goal is to raise funds for the campaign after they had contributed money to residents effected by the flooding.
It is an afternoon of local musicians, great food and an outdoor bar for everyone to enjoy.
The afternoon has been organised by licensee Gary Smith and also The Plug In and Play team in Ruthin.
He said: “A similar event was organised in 2012 at the same time the town had flooding.
“The Hillsborough Justice campaign decided at that time the residents effected were in more need than them and donated all the money back to the town.
“Although I have only been running the wine vaults for the last 5 months we feel very much part of the community and seen this as an excellent opportunity to donate something back at a time when the Hillsborough Justice Campaigns family are travelling daily to Warrington to the latest hearings.”
Ruthin businesses have already actively got involved in the event and a whole range of prizes have already been donated for our charity raffle, the local businesses that have so far came forward is On The Hill restaurant, Ruthin Castle, The Farmers Arms, The Griffin at Llanbedr and many more.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 23, starting from 3pm until late.
Should any other local businesses want to support this worthy cause they can contact Gary Smith at the Wine Vaults direct.
