Pedestrians hurt in road accident near Denbigh and Flint Show

TWO men are fighting for their lives in hospital after being seriously hurt in a road accident near the Denbigh and Flint Show last night.

The incident happened at around 9pm last night on the A541 road near Denbigh on the Bodfari Road. 

A man in his 30s and another in his 20s were seriously injured and are being treated in Stoke. 

A third man in his twenties suffered less serious injuries and was described by paramedics as "walking wounded".

The police attended the road accident near the Denbigh Green cross roads.

One vehicle was involved and three pedestrians were injured.

Two of the pedestrians were severely injured.

All involved in the accident were travelling towards Trefnant.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Witnesses should contact the police contacting the reference number R131343.

All three pedestrians were taken to hospital and two of them, a 30-year-old man and a 24-year-old man remain at Stoke hospital this morning having sustained serious injuries. 

The third pedestrian was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and he was later released having sustained minor injuries.

Inspector Marin Best said: “Our investigations and continuing and I’d appeal to anyone who was travelling along the A541 at around the time of the collision or who witnessed the incident to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 quoting reference number R131343.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “At 9pm last night, Thursday 21 August, we were called to reports a car had collided with three pedestrians in the Denbigh area, between Trefnant and Bodfari.

Two rapid response vehicles, a BASICS doctor and three emergency ambulances attended. A man in his 30s and a man in his 20s, both with life-threatening injuries, were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

A second man in his 20s who is described as ‘walking wounded’ was also taken to this hospital.”
