IT WAS another morning of celebration at Ysgol Brynhyfryd as students collected an outstanding set of GCSE and BTEC results.

The A* - C pass rate for GCSE is 81% with an impressive 32% of the grades awarded A* and A grades.

Fourteen students achieved ten or more A*/ A grades and a further 35 achieved 5 or more A*/A grades.

Results in the vocational BTEC courses are also outstanding with many students gaining Distinctions and starred Distinctions.

Ninety two percent of the Year 11 students achieved the Level 2 threshold which is equivalent to 5 or more GCSEs at grades A* - C and for 70% this included a higher grade pass in Welsh or English and Mathematics.

"This has been a great year group to work with and it was a pleasure to be able to share their joy this morning as they collected their results, said headteacher Eleri Jones.

"The positive outcomes reflect their effort, determination, and desire to succeed and the support and guidance provided by staff.  We congratulate all our students and are particularly proud of the success of individuals who have had to overcome significant difficulties and set-backs on their road to success.  We look forward to welcoming many back to continue their studies within the Dyffryn Clwyd Partnership."
