A STALWART photographer from Ruthin will display a vast collection of his Royal photographs at an exhibition to mark The Queen's 90th birthday.

Colin Edwards, who has been photographing the royal family since 1982, will be displaying 110 photographs that are new to the public at the exhibition at St Peter's Church, Ruthin, from April 18 to April 30.

Mr Edwards, who describes himself as "a keen amateur royal photographer" had a book published in 2014 entitled "A Personal Portrait of the Royal Family", copies of which will be available to buy at the exhibition.

"The exhibition is my own personal tribute to her Majesty," said Mr Edwards.

"I've met her over a hundred times since 1982, and I've travelled thousands of miles all over the country to photograph her and other Royals. 

"I feel honoured to have been able to photograph her and am delighted to have this exhibition in honour of her 90th birthday," he added.

The exhibition will be officially opened by the mayor of Ruthin, Cllr  Anne Roberts, at 11am ,on April 18, and continues from 10am until 5pm each day until April 30.

Colin will be appearing on the programme The Day I Met the Queen on BBC 1 on Monday, April 18, at 9.15am.
