THE Air Ambulance has been called to a crash on the A5104 in Corwen.

The incident happened at around half past two. Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue are also attending.

The road is currently closed where the incident happened near the leisure centre.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A5104 at Corwen.

"Two vehicles are involved, a Vauxhall Corsa and a Toyota. 

"Ambulance services and Fire and Rescue are also in attendance."

North Wales Fire and Rescue said they were called to the scene shortly after 3pm.

A spokesperson said: We were called at  3.09pm to the A5104 in Corwen on reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars.

"Two crews were dispatched, one from Llangollen, one from Cerrigydrudion.

"Crews are currently at work with cutting equipment removing the roof of one vehicle."

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at about 2.45pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A494 near Corwen.

"The Wales Air Ambulance and an emergency ambulance attended the scene and an elderly man was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.”
