A PIECE of cycling history is up for grabs this weekend.
This Saturday, July 22 is captain’s day at Denbigh Golf Club.
Golf club captain Tegid Phillips is holding a special auction of promises on the day, with only five items available.
Two of the items have been donated by Geraint Thomas, the double Olympic cycling gold medal winner and the wearer of the Yellow Jersey on four days of this year’s Tour de France.
Geraint has promised his book with personal greetings to the individual making the successful bid.
In addition, Thomas has also promised one of the four yellow numbers (number 9) which he wore on the four days he was in the lead during this year’s Tour de France.
“(This is a) unique opportunity and a fantastic gesture by Geraint,” said Tegid Phillips.
“It should be emphasised that there are only four of these numbers anywhere in the world and Geraint has been kind enough to donate one of them.”
Anyone wishing to make a bid for either of the above should contact Tegid Phillips on 01745 812375 or 07901 973297.
