Masterchef winner Clare Lara is set to wow diners at Springs Spa, Llanrhaeadr

Owner Harry Barker says that the 2010 champion is due to be at the venue once a month

Claire was the first woman to win Masterchef. Since then she has cooked for the Queen and Raymond Blanc amongst others.

Claire said: "Since Masterchef, I was yet to find the right venue and was recently introduced to Springs Spa owner, Harry Barker and I'm now really excited to showcase my food at this beautiful venue and surroundings.

"We really want the emphasis to be on fun and a giggle but also steer away from the 'stuffy' side of fine food dining which can put people off"

Claire has 22 years experience and Springs Spa have already sold out for the first night, without the menu even being released yet. Bookings can be made on the Springs Spa website

Claire Lara, 37 originally from the Wirral, was crowned the first ever female winner of BBC’s Masterchef -The Professionals in 2010 after winning over judges Gregg Wallace and Michelin starred chef Michel Roux Jr in an intense competition of four heat weeks, a semi-final and the final.

Her final three-course meal featured a starter of crispy skinned sea trout, a main of roasted pigeon with quince jelly and a red wine sauce and a dessert of raspberry and white chocolate millefeuille served with lemon thyme discs, topped with raspberries.

Claire, whose father is a postman and mother support worker, found her passion for cooking when she joined a YTS in food and catering which gave her the opportunity to spend five years in Paris where she met husband Marc, also a chef.
