A Denbigh man who denies murder goes on trial next month.
Defendant Jason Liam Cooper, aged 28, of St Hilary's Terrace, was originally charged with attempting to murder Laura Jayne Stuart and wounding David Roberts with intent to cause him GBH following an incident in Denbigh town centre.
But Miss Stuart, 33, a mother of two, later died and he was then charged with her murder.
In October, he pleaded not guilty to murdering Miss Stuart on August 13, and wounding Mr Roberts with intent on August 12.
The defendant appeared for a pre-trial review at Mold Crown Court on Monday morning.
Judge Rhys Rowlands confirmed the trial date of February 19.
He made various directions for the trial, which is expected to last some two weeks.
A family statement issued through the police at the time said they were devastated.
‘As a family, we are devastated at the loss of our beautiful daughter, sister, auntie and above all mother to two wonderful children. She was a devoted family member and took great pride working as a support worker with vulnerable adults. She will be greatly missed by all that had the fortune to know her," the statement said.
