MUSIC fans in the Vale of Clwyd and eyeing up a terrific beginning to the New Year.

Ruthin AllStyles Music Club is looking forward to another great year of music in 2018, with four great acts confirmed to perform intimate concerts during the first half of the year.

These concerts will be held at the Feathers Inn, Ruthin.

The first concert will be taking place on Thursday, January 25.

This will see a visit from the talented Gary Edward Jones, whose album The Cabinet Maker was in the Radio Caroline charts for 17 weeks during 2014, knocking U2 off the top spot!

Gary moved from Liverpool last year to live in, and to gain song-writing inspiration from, the beautiful Vale of Clwyd - and the club is proud to be able to refer to him now as one of our many talented ‘local’ musicians.

On the night, he will be performing a mix of his own wonderful material and the songs of Paul Simon, prior to embarking on a nation-wide tribute tour entitled “Something About Simon”.

The evening will begin with a round of floor spots by a variety of local singers, who will deliver a broad mix of folk, Blues, R&B and country, followed by two fabulous 45 minute sets from Gary.

Entry is £8 in advance and £10 on the door, with concessions available for regular members.

Looking further ahead and on Thursday, March 8, the highly entertaining multi-instrumentalist Jon Brindley will be performing a mixture of covers and original material in his own inimitable style.
