A Ruthin man has denied a robbery charge.

Defendant James Marsh, aged 29, of Bryn Haul, Rhos Street in Ruthin, is charged with robbing a man of £130 in cash.

He pleaded not guilty when he appeared in the dock at Mold Crown Court this afternoon.

Judge Niclas Parry agreed with defending barrister Simon Rogers that Marsh should be rebailed pending his trial in July on condition that he does not enter The Co-op Store in Station Road, Ruthin.

It is alleged that at about 9 p.m. on October 7 he robbed Huw Sandler of £130 in cash.

He pleaded not guilty together with a charge that later the same day he assaulted a police officer at the police station.

The trial is expected to last some two days.
