THE funeral of a kind-hearted St Asaph Cathedral photographer is to take place next month.

Nathaniel Ramanaden, an enthusiastic bird watcher, died on January 12 at Holywell Hospital. His funeral is to be held at the city's cathedral on Thursday, February 1 at 11.30am.

Nathaniel had son David and daughter Naomi and was a grandfather to Jacob, Abigail and Amelie. The 82-year-old was a dedicated supporter of the cathedral,the choir as well as being a regular worshipper.

Revd Canon Rex Matthias, precentor at the cathedral, said: "His warmth and presence will be sadly missed.

"Nathaniel's photos were widely used in local newspapers and magazines and generously shared with those associated with the cathedral."

The retired audit commission external auditor, who lived in Old Palace, High Street, ran a popular flickr account and often treated Journal and Free Press readers to his vibrant snaps of birds.

The funeral service at the at the cathedral will be followed by an interment at Mount Road Cemetery. Donations will be accepted towards Pancreatic Cancer UK.
