JANUARY is here and the busy times have continued at Maes Tegid.

The year 2017 was a superb one for the club and 2018 is set to be our busiest - and hopefully - most successful year yet.

Our first team secured a spot in the top-six of the JD Welsh Premier League and they will face The New Saints, Connah’s Quay, Bangor City, Cardiff Met and Cefn Druids from now until the end of April.

The main aim is to finish as high up the table as possible - and hopefully secure a European spot over the summer.

Our new fixtures are out, with plenty of Friday night action taking place, so why not come down to Maes Tegid and show your support?

With the success of our ladies' team taking off in 2017, they have received a huge boost with Davies Partnership coming on board to be official shorts sponsors.

In addition, the ladies secured their first ever win against Rhyl Development a fortnight ago.

Due to popular demand, we have launched new girls' sessions, which started earlier this week and they take place on Monday evenings.

Sessions for U-7s to U-11s will be held from 5.30 until 6.30pm, with those aged from the U-12s through to the U-16s training between 6 and 7pm.

It only costs £1 a week.

Our plan is to launch new U-12, U-14 and U-16 sides over the summer, so if you know of any girls that are looking to get into football, now is their chance! Ladies' training takes place on Tuesday nights, from 7-8pm.

The U-19s are currently unbeaten in 2018, after claiming a 4-1 win over Prestatyn Town and a 2-1 triumph versus last year's champions Bangor City.

Charlie Williams and Lewys Turner have both been called up to two Wales U-18s Academy camps and they played against Swansea City at the start of the month. Meanwhile, the Academy teams have almost finished their winter futsal seasons and they are looking forward to returning to Academy Cup action.

In addition, the U8s-U11s are looking for midweek friendlies.

If any teams would be interested, please contact Andy Kelly on 07581 064847 or e-mail community@balatownfc.co.uk

Maes Tegid’s 3G has seen plenty of use over the winter, with Porthmadog, Llanuwchllyn, Ruthin and Corwen playing games and training weekly throughout December.

New to Maes Tegid is the Llyn and Eifionydd League, which will now be using the facility across all age groups to play league games once a month.

An U-14s' game and the full U-10s' league have already taken place, which were a huge success.

After hosting our first FAW Leaders Award in November, a second date has been arranged for Sunday, February 25.

You can book a place on the course via the FAW Courses website.

We have regular slots available, for one-third of a pitch, two-thirds and the full pitch, throughout January and February.

Our dressing rooms can also be provided and all prices include floodlights where necessary.

Matchday packages are also available, including the use of the home and away changing rooms for any clubs having pitch troubles.
