A COUPLE experienced the wedding of their dreams - thanks to the community.

Kate and her husband Dylan Evans were married on February 8 at Ruthin Castle. Their wedding was organised and paid for by generous community members, businesses, family and friends.

A surprise and secret group had been set up on Facebook by friends, asking if the community could help make the couple’s wedding dreams a reality, after Kate and Dylan, who live in Llanelidan, were left disappointed about not being able to enter a competition to win a wedding at Ruthin Castle.

The parents, who have children Louie, aged four, and Isabella, aged two-and-a-half, started their wedding morning at 6am.

Kate said: “We started with hair and make up and we had many laughs. The children were having a great time throughout the morning and were so excited for the wedding. We made our way to the castle at 12.40pm.

“I was so excited to see Dylan - I had no nerves. Walking down the aisle to Dylan and the children and having my dad at my side was a great feeling.

“My flowers were all so beautiful.

“We are so thrilled to finally be Mr and Mrs Evans. It really was the best day and we had our wonderful friends and family there with us to celebrate. Dylan’s dad was able to come to the wedding for five hours from hospital, thanks to the kindness of two gentlemen who transported him to and from the castle.”

Kate said that she and her new husband will be “forever grateful” for all the wonderful donations they received.

She said: “We will be always thankful for everyone’s kindness and determination to make sure our day happened.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have all made our lives complete.”
