A Llanelidan nursery has been named a Master Grower for a major flower show in Cardiff this spring.
Dibley's Nursery, near Ruthin, has awarded the role for this years Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Flower Show in Cardiff's Bute Park in April.
Lynne Dibley said:“We’re delighted to have been named Master Grower for this year’s show and very much looking forward to heading to Cardiff in April."
Each year the RHS selects five leading nurseries to feature in its Master Grower scheme, to share their story and expertise in breeding and producing plants.
Dibley's Nursery was founded as a hobby by Rex Dibley in 1976, named initially after his hometown Efenechtyd, before son Gareth and daughter Lynne joined and renaming it in 1984.
Stalwarts of the RHS circuit, the Dibley's team clinched a gold medal at their very first Chelsea Flower Show in 1988, earning their 28th Chelsea gold last year and taking the total gold medal haul, across various competitions, to more than 150.
With a particular focusing on houseplants, Dibley's now supplies more than 250 garden centres across the UK and the nursery holds three National Collections including Saintpaulia, Petrocosmea and their speciality, the Streptocarpus, or Cape primrose.
Ms Dibley added: "Indoor plants are our passion and we’re keen to help educate people on the best plants for their home and prove that you really don't need a garden to enjoy plants."
The Rhs Cardiff Flower Show takes place between Friday, April 13 until Sunday 15. Tickets are available from rhs.org.uk/cardiff.
