AN inquest has been opened into the deaths of two Denbigh people who were killed when their car hit a tree.

Two 27-year-old friends, Paul Corness, of Llys Gwydyr and John Robert Jones, Bryn Dedwydd, were heading towards the direction of Ruthin on 21 April when their car collided with a tree.

Both were later pronounced dead at the scene on the A525 bypass.

At a hearing in Ruthin John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central said Mr Corness, a sales representative and Mr Jones, a factory worker, were involved in a single vehicle collision.

A provisional date for a full inquest has been set for October but is subject to change following an investigation.
