North Wales Jazz’s new venue will be swinging again next week as the trumpet and tenor sax-led Brownfield Byrne Hot Six take to the stage.

The Hot Six, co-led by Liam Byrne (tenor sax) and Jamie Brownfield (trumpet), will be at The White House, in Rhuallt next Wednesday, June 13, sharing their classic jazz from New Orleans through the great American songbook to mainstream, inspired by the classic small groups and swing era stylists of the late 1930s and early 1940s.

The Brownfield Byrne Hot Six is made up of trumpeter Jamie Brownfield, winner of the Rising Star category at the 2012 British Jazz Awards; on tenor sax Liam Byrne, postgraduate of London’s Guildhall School of Music and also the band’s arranger; and on keyboards Tom Kincaid, first choice of many touring artists and band leaders.

The band is completed by Andy Hulme (guitar), Jim Swinnerton (double bass) and Jack Cotterill (drums).

The music commences at 8pm and admission is £6.50, concessions £6, schoolchildren £3.
